Finally.... Baby G on the way...

After years of "when are you going to have a baby?" we can finally answer that question.  We are expecting our first (and only ... knock on wood) baby in March 2011.  Currently I am 17 weeks along and just starting to show.  Its so exciting to go through right behind my sister in law (who is due any day now!!) I get to bombard her with all my questions like "is this normal..." "did you notice..." "how far along where you when....".   I make her tell me only positive things, cause I cant handle anything bad or gross right now.  We will hopefully find out on Friday if Baby G is a little girl or boy!!!

Ohh my goodness what a summer..... 2010 rocks my socks off

Well there is so much to catch up on but at this time I'm over due for sleep and cant seem to get enough of it.  I will give you the short version now and edit later, k?

1. I miss my family a lot especially on rainy days like today.  Wish I could take my laundry to grandmas and catch up on card games, discuss how the world is falling apart and no one has morals, debate politics, have a beer and eat some snacks or whatever she has been cooking up! -OR -  Mom could come help me clean (I hate cleaning alone) we could listen to music and reminisce when we find old pictures.  She would tell me if I havent worn it in a year to get rid of it!!! And I would... the next day my house would be clean and sparking! Ohh how I wish we lives closer now she would have to fly here to help me clean.... once she got here who would want to clean?  Not me!
(With that being said I do not want to move to KC and I love how special the time is when we get to be together.... being away makes the heart grow fonder and I think moving from there has been the best way to be close to all of them.)  LoVe LoVe LoVe you familia!

2.  Kevin and Amy.... Yeah!!  Soooooo excited mainly and selfishly because I get to be an aunt.... to a little girl who will from here out be referred to a princess!!!! Watch out world you aint ready for this precious little spoiled princess!  Aunt Stacy is though! I am also excited because I know Kevin and Amy having been wanting a little bambino and they are going to make fabulous parents! I cant wait to see the princess's room - my brother has some pretty amazing handy man craft skillz and Ms. Amy is a fabulous decorator (I will be posting pics once I go visit).  This lil princess better like pink, ruffles and bows cause thats what shes getting!

3.  Went on an amazing Cruise, swung by Jamaica, Cozmel, & Cayman Islands.  Wow!! Justine (my niece) and I got to go snuba = AmAzInG!! I think I want to take up diving now but want to wait until next year.  We saw some pretty cool things and did a little shopping of corse!

4.  By birthday - hung out in Dallas with some friends, enough said don't need to think about getting any older.

5. VeGaS BaBy!!! -  Had an amazing time in Vegas, got to celebrate my G-parents 60th wedding anniversary.... thats right 60th!!!! Congratulations!  They had no clue we were there, mom, Pat, Mike and I made it a surprise and although there were a couple slip ups we covered our tracks and they really had no idea we were going to be there!! (Thought grandma was having a minor heart attach when we walked in but no ambulance needed she was fine).  We did dinner and saw Beatles Love... it was mine and Mikes 2nd time to see it and it was just as amazing as the first! That show is worth every penny and there is not a bad seat in the house!!! Anyone going to Vegas this is a must see!  We also did some shopping, played some blackjack, and did some sight seeing.  The family saw Terry Fador and enjoyed the show a lot.  We had some friends in town from Dallas and Chicago and went to see Joe Rogan's standup, it was pretty funny then we got to meet him and took a couple pics with him.  We also went to Club Pure at Caesars Palace compliments of Mr & Mrs (soon to be) Smith, we had an amazing VIP suite next to GSP (some UFC Fighter ??? Im clueless about that stuff) and Chris Angel.  We also saw a mini concert from Kelly Rowland and closed that place down! 4th of July we caught a glimpse of some fireworks at Mandalay Bay Beach.  Curt purposed to Andrea and duhhh she said YES!! Will the wedding be in Vegas???  Hopefully but if not the bach parties will be!!!

6.  Back to reality - Our 16 legs of children might be feeling a little neglected, I am glad to be home and cuddled up to them.... they are pretty good movie watchers and nappers on rainy days like today.  I love sleeping in my own bed too! I havent been feeling to good since I have been back in town not sure if its new medicine Im on (the side effects bother my sleep) or if its just recovering but come on its been a week now I am ready to feel like me again.  A little anxious and excited about some possibilities that might be coming our way (no not babies) but time will tell, I will keep you posted!

Thanks for checking in on me, I know this is a long blog and missing half the details.
Love ya all and will be posting pics soon!

Makin Movies!! Watch out, you could end up starring in one.....

I always thought I was pretty good with the computer until my 13 year old niece (who has never used a Mac) schooled me..... she taught me how to make videos out of still shots.  I must say its a pretty cool way to keep a memory of a vacation or special event.  Here are a couple and I will continue to post more as I get around to creating them.  (email me at stacymae14@gmail.com if any of the links dont work for you)

Road Rage & Puppy Dogs

About a year ago Mike and I were driving down a highway about 15 minutes away from home, I don't remember exactly what happened but we ended up in a little road rage episode with a white minivan.  The boys exchanged words and we were on with our day. Everytime we saw a white minivan or even an SUV Mike would speed up or slow down to see if it were the same people...... It never was!!! A few days later we met up at home and went out to dinner, on the way we stopped at the dry cleaners across the street Mike was convinced the white minivan that turned in  behind us was the one from days before that we had encountered.  I told him he was crazy and ran into the cleaners, when I turned around and went to leave I was shocked to see the man from the minivan a few days earlier was standing at Mikes door!!! My first thought was that he had tracked us down and was totally loco!!! Come to find out he thought that we had tracked him down and he was scared for his family!  He had seen us drive through the neighborhood and recognized us so he followed us to the cleaners to ask why we were driving through his neighborhood and yes he had the police on the phone (like anyone would).  Come to find out he is our neighbor and lives just a few doors down!!!! We called off the swat team (j/k) shook hands and learned a lesson that day..... Or so I thought.

Last night I was relaxing at home while our 16 legs of children (4 dogs) were playing in the back yard.  When I held the back door open it was eerily quiet and only Trisha came running inside.  I hollered for Bud, Marli and Trixi with no response.   I checked the back gate, it was unlatched and open about a foot! ..... I panicked, grabbed Trisha and jumped in the car.  I rolled down my windows and drove around the neighborhood my plan was to keep my eyes open but to talk to everyone and ask if they saw any dogs running wild.  I felt a little lost with three dogs and who knows where they ran to and if they were together or all separate!  I ran came across a lady and her kids down the street, the little girl said we love dogs and we want to help, she asked me about what the dogs looked like and said they would do their best..... the mom and I exchanged numbers and headed in different directions.... She must have drove around with her kids for well over an hour maybe even 2 (every minute that I didnt know where they were felt like forever)! We ended up finding all 3 dogs, 2 different neighbors had taken them in!! I am so thankful that my wonderful neighbors took my dogs in and kept them safe, I also cant believe how selfless my neighbor and her children were to spend their evening driving around looking for my dogs with absolutely no benefit to them we dont even know each other AND it was Mothers Day!!!  I texted my neighbor when Trixi (the last one) made it home.  She was so happy the dogs made it home that night safe and sound, she even told me her kids prayed for the return of my pups!!  Im so glad to know that there are people in this world that teach their kids to help others, give selflessly, love their neighbors and pray!  It gives me hope that sometime in the future when I have kids maybe they arent totally dumbed!

And did I mention the neighbor that helped me look for my dogs is the same neighbor that drives the white mini van?  Now I have learned a lesson.

Let the "fast" begin

Fasting....

–verb (used without object)
1.to abstain from all food.
2.to eat only sparingly or of certain kinds of food, esp. as a religious observance

I joke that I don't eat green food but really, its no joke.  I just simply don't like spinach, broccoli, peas... you name and I don't like it.  I will eat artificially colored green food (mostly sugary desserts) and seasonings, last year I realized I like shredded lettuce on sandwiches, some gualcamole dip, and spinach dip (with lots of cheese!).  I know its crazy but I'm making progress, I just DO NOT LIKE GREEN FOOD! This carries over to other healthy foods as well.

Why am I telling you this?.... The church I attend is doing a church wide 21 day fast!  When the news about the fast came out I thought "God why do you want me to starve myself, are you trying to make me commit suicide?"  He knows I was joking but seriously, I was panicked.

I read on and it said if you have a health condition which prohibits you from participating to fast in a different way, such as giving up other things.  I am going to consider myself as having a health (maybe it should be a mental health) condition.  I am giving up soda (diet Dr. Pepper!!!), coffee, and chocolate! I heart chocolate chip cookies.  In addition I am also going to give up the yummies that go along with regular meals like cheese and mayo.  Its kind of my modified fast but its going to be tough no doubt.

Since I am not following the fast of the others in my church I have also chosen to give up facebook and myspace during this time.  This will allow me more time to focus on the bible and my relationship with our Father.   I will try to post more details of the fast and my findings as they come along.

Check out our churches website about the fast....  http://www.fellowshipchurch.com/fast

2010 Ready or Not...

Ready of not its 2010 and I am so excited to see what life has to bring this year!  I came dangerously close to meeting my 2009 resolutions and will hopefully meet my 2010 resolutions.

2009 Highlight Reel

Mike's Company took us to Las Vegas (we stayed a little longer cause we love it there so much).

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary on May 28th in Hawaii!!! - In Hawaii we visited 2 islands, hiked, submarined, zip-lined, toured, helicopter rode, and laid out at the pools and beautiful beaches!  We also saw Pearl Harbor on Memorial Day, would have to say that was an amazing - life changing -never forget it - experience.

Visited our wonderful family and friends in Kansas City.

Mom came down with Amy & Stacie, we did pedicures, lots of shopping and went for a night out to Pete's Piano Bar where things got a little crazy!!!

Mike and his friend Carl went to L.A. for a guys weekend.

I started attending Fellowship Church Plano with my friend Ashley and on September 20th I joined the church and recommitted my life to Christ through baptism.  I have been attending FC Plano since the summer and hope to get more involved with my church this year.

Halloween = Big Bad Wolf (granny style) and Little Red Riding Hood.  Went to Carl & Sarah's for a great Halloween Party.

Mike's store (Buckle @ Stonebriar) underwent a major remodel and expansion.  The store moved into a temporary spot for a while them moved back upstairs to their new store..... It turned out great, I am so proud of him!

My mom came to visit and brought all my grandparents!!!! That was a treat, I get to see my grandparents on my moms side when I visit my mom in KC but I don't always get to see my Grandma Moore (dads side) boy do I miss her.  It was great to be able to share my life with her and for her to see where I live.....I didnt get any pictures :(

Father Jim & Mama Tudy (Mike's folks) came for Thanksgiving, we ate great food (Tudy is an amazing cook!) and had a great time.   The house was all decked out for Christmas!

Samaritan Inn (homeless shelter) has taught me so much about life and not to take anything for granted.  I have met some amazing people who are so positive and have such an amazing outlook on life yet they have no home and refer to themselves as "blessed" ....  These people inspire me in so many ways. (Im sure you will see more about this in my 2010 blog)

In December I got to visit New York with my friend Candace..... Brrrrr it was cold.  We did so much and saw so much, some of the highlights were the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Little Italy, China Town, The Rockettes, our amazing suite with a great view right on Time Square, The Rockefeller Tree, our getaway to Brooklyn, and Santacon!!!! (Ohhh Santacon maybe I will see you in Austin in 2010)

Mike and I spent a nice and quiet Christmas Eve and Christmas day together at home with out 4 dogs.

Wow reminiscing over 2009 makes me that much more excited..... I cant imaging whats in store for 2010! Thanks for visiting my blog and may God send you many blessings in 2010!
